Orthodox radio «Radonezh» aired in the days of Easter 1991 with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and became the first independent radio station in Russia. Since then, radio «Radonezh» became perhaps the most effective and popular Orthodox media and the voice of the Russian Orthodox Church, both in Russia and abroad.
